I want to give my fellow authors a heads up that The Puritan and Uncanny Magazine are both open for submissions.
Below are their submission guidelines. However, this is just an overview. It is always wise to get your information directly from the publication’s websites and read what they have published in the past.

The Puritan
DESCRIPTION: The Puritan is one of Canada’s premier online literary magazines. Based in Toronto, and founded in late 2006, The Puritan is committed to publishing the best in new fiction, poetry, interviews, essays, reviews, and more, from both Canada and abroad — and has published many of today’s finest literary talents. – from The Puritan’s website.
WORD LIMIT: Fiction: 12,000 words. Anything over 10,000 words will have to be of “exceptional” quality; Poetry: Any length. Send up to 4 poems at a time; Essay Pitch: No more than 250 words.
PAY RATE: (as of Summer 2019): $25.00/Poem; $100.00/Interview or Review; $150.00/Work of Fiction; $200.00/Essay.
SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS: YES! (But as always let them know if your submission is accepted elsewhere.)

Uncanny Magazine
DESCRIPTION: Uncanny Magazine is seeking passionate, diverse SF/F fiction and poetry from writers from every conceivable background. We want intricate, experimental stories and poems with gorgeous prose, verve, and imagination that elicit strong emotions and challenge beliefs. PAY RATE: $0.10/word.
